TO20 Bell housing bolt pattern?

Does anybody know the dimensions of the bellhousing bolt pattern for the TO20? I'm looking at doing an adapter plate for an engine swap to a chevy V6, like the kit that's available for the Ford 8N.

Welcome Mike!

I don't know the dimensions, it would be easier to transfer the holes from the engine. And keep in mind, adapter plates are an exacting science. It must be extremely accurate to get the proper input shaft alignment. Any error and there will be binding, bearing failure, and transmission damage!

Something else to consider, what are you going to attach the front suspension to?

Do you have a plan for a governor?

Room for the carb or fuel system under the tank?

Automotive engines have an entirely different power band than tractor engines. That tractor is geared to work between 500-2000 RPM. Unless you change the cam, the V6 will not be on the power band unless you have other plans than actually using it as a tractor.

Not questioning your ability, just don't know how deep you intend this project to get. It is not an easy task by any means!

I've done quite a few adapter plates for industrial generators, pumps, etc. They're actually pretty easy to make with a CNC machining center. You gotta have the dimensions, though. A 4.3l chevy v6 will produce way more hp than the original continental engine did at 1800-2200 rpm range that the Fergie runs at. I know a couple of guys who have Ford 8Ns with the Red Rock conversion and they run great. There's a few questions about the potential fit that I can't answer without seeing the bellhosing layout, e.g. how or if the starter will fit, etc.
