Super MTA Hydraulics Problem

Hey All! I have a Super MTA, bought it a few years ago and have never used the hydraulics on it yet. This summer I tried for the first time and have had some issues.
Tractor has the Lift-All system under the gas tank and the "Christmas Tree" for remotes. Can't get either one to work.....
Read the manuals I have, discusses operation but not really troubleshooting.
Main notable thing is that the lever on the Christmas tree doesn't move. Like it's hitting something internal to the valve. Handle moves about a 1/8" or so but hits something solid both ways. No idea. The pump up front seems to be working fine and just recirculating fluid , but I cannot isolate the lift-all or the christmas tree due to this to use ether.
I am attempting to use a pull behind sickle mower and use lift cylinder with the lift-all. Is there something I'm missing here?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob

The spool valve in the Christmas Tree may be stuck. either from moisture, or just non-use. The valve should move easily when not
running and just a bit harder if running. Jim

Pump up front tells me the lift all has been locked out and the system modified to live hydraulics. Not sure about the Christmas tree valve as never had one.

On the Christmas tree valve there is a little flap on the side toward the bottom that can lock the lever into a position. You have to manually move that to move the hydraulic lever.

It's an MTA. It came with live hydraulics from the factory, with the reservoir under the gas tank. No room for it in the traditional belly pump location due to the presence of the TA housing.

To operate the hydraulics you need to operate BOTH valves.

A. The valve on the lift-all under the gas tank should be locked back. Then the christmas tree valve is used for two-way hydraulics. Connections come off the christmas tree valve.
B. The christmas tree valve should be locked back. Then the lift-all valve is used for one-way hydraulics. Connection is on the hydraulic reservoir.

If the christmas tree valve is seized, that's an easy fix. You can get it off the tractor pretty easily, take it apart, and do what's needed to free it up.

The pump on the sm and smta is up on the distributor. If your not using power down then itd be temping to take off the Christmas tree valve the plumb the power up from the hydraulic resivor power up then return into the fill valve.

Ok thanks for all the replies. Let's me know I'm on the right track. You guys are a great resource, hopefully I can help someone one day, lol.
I did try to move the little lock on the Christmas tree valve. I could move it fine, but the valve handle wouldn't move either way. I can move it about 1/8" and it hits something in both directions. Metal, solid.
Attached some pics so everyone can see context. I'm trying to use the A port on the Lift-all, the remote valve is not plumbed at all to hoses going to the rear of the tractor yet, and are still plugged off.

There is a small screw with a nut on the top center of the Christmas tree valve itself. Does that do anything?

Sorry just trying to make sure I don't tear into something that's super simple and i'm just missing it....

If remote control valve spool is stuck in center the oil will just go in circle through it and ack to pump without sending pressure to rear unit. Most times they can be freed up after removing. Take the small nut off the cover. If it doesn't seem to come loose with moderate pressure try a little heat to help get it loose. It attaches to the centering springs inside spool. With spool not stuck and valve off tractor the tree bolts on cover could be removed and cover and spool lifted out together. Next remove the tree bolts from cover. Now you can see top of spool. Could try getting penetrate to soak but most times it takes screwing the valve body off and use something like a brass drift to drive spool out from bottom up being careful to not damage anything. If repair fails connectors installed joining the two lines that connect to the tees will let the rear unit work.
