1964 cub generator belt

If you have the old belt take it to NAPA or O'Reilly's and they can match it up for you

If that is the case take a piece of rope and put it over the pulleys and measure how long it is and also measure how wide the pulley is and use that info to get a belt fro ma parts store

I have used that many times over the years and keep 1/2 inch rope on hand any how

Any place that has a parts book with belts It would help if the counter person knew what a tractor was and how to look up the correct belt

Never had much luck with that method. Even in the good old days when parts man was a career the guys would always send us home with the wrong belt.

MORNING. CANT HELP YOU WITH THE BELT BUT I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU! - HAVE A 1966 CUB LO BOY [MAYBE LIKE YOURS] ALSO TRYING TO CHAGNE GENERATOR BELT [TOOK OFF WHOLE HOOD TO GET TO IT] NOW I LEARN THERE IS A BOLT 5/8 INCH NEXT TO FAN BLADE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOSENED - WONT BUDGE. HAVE YOU ? I AM WONDIERING IF THIS IS A REVERSE THREAD BOLT OR SOMETHINIG? IT JUST WONT BUDGE, AND NO EASY WAY TO GET IN TO IT? DID YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE?

The fan is on a shaft that is in a slot that is part of the front cover. That shaft has a nut on the back side. The nut fits in a groove on the back side of the slot. This keeps the nut from turning. Do not try to turn the nut. If you do, you will break the front cover.

The shaft has a hex at the front side of the slot. You loosen/tighten the shaft assembly by turning the shaft. You need a fairly thin wrench to get on the hex.

Thanks. Yeh. That is the problem. The shaft nut to loosen is a 5/8 size. My 6 inch wrench gets in. But not enough leverage to turn it offf. And I do t have. And no places local sells a 11 inch. Thin. 5/8 inch open end . So still figuring how to get that darn nut there loose as you mention needs doing in that tight spot. Short of. As mentioned. Removing the whol air filter and line etc
