broken roosta master cam advance screw

Taking a Roosa Master DBG pump apart to replace flex ring & seals. Used a torx bit to remove the cam advance screw but the screw head split apart. That sucker is on tight!

Has anyone run into this problem, and how did you get the rest of the broken screw out? Can't reach it with vice-grips. Thinking of drilling it and using an easy-out, but I never have much luck with those.

Is their a diesel repair close by. They could probably get it out for you no problem if it isn't
completely busted up. The correct tool will encase the outside of the stud so it won't split and if
it is still intact they could most likely just drive the tool on .

Other methods may work like even driving a pipe over head and then a pretty good rap in center of
bolt with good allen wrench. No heat though.

Below is another thread on the subject.

Unfortunately the O.P. was not clear as to how he finally got it out.

Dunno if it would be possible to get more info from him?
FWIW

Pete 23's advice spot-on as usual. I drove a 3/8" 6 point socket over the broken head so it seated on the flat side of the break, then turned it screw out. Disaster averted.
