If the indicator lamp is burned out or the fuse is blown the alternator won't charge. Also if the indicator lamp resistance is too high (ie. the bulb is too small) it won't charge. Recommend checking those first.

The alternator will work fine with #2 terminal wired directly to alternator BAT terminal.

Try connecting the #2 directly to the BAT post on the alternator. That is where it should be connected.

The BAT post goes to the ammeter. Your #1 is wired correctly.

If that does not work the alternator is bad and needs to be repaired or replaced.

That small No 2F is for voltage sensing, many jump it right down to the big rear output stud (that goes to battery or ammeter) others may run it to battery, or the hot supply side of the ammeter which wires to battery anyway. The small No 1R is for initial excitation, be sure its hot when on as an idiot light or fuse or a wire etc missing can prohibit excitation. The alternators output stud wires to the LOAD (NOT battery/starter supply side) of ammeter.
