I like those beans! We don't have the weather, or the right soil to get that kind of crop here. In addition we are well into Autumn, so no beans for us for a few months :(

When I was a kid I had to pick them and then we set under a tree in the shade helping mom snap beans.

We always plant the blue lake variety, but the bush beans require too much bending and stooping, so last year we planted the blue lake pole beans. Same kind of green bean, but no more stooping and bending.

Where the heck are you that you have beans already?? Here in Missouri where I am the beans are just around 12-18 inches tall and it will be a good month before we start picking them. I grow the pole bean type both Blue lake and KY wonder and China Noodle beans.

Bass, that's a nice mess of beans. Are you taking them to the farmer's market? That's a load to can or freeze.

When I was a teen dad planted 2 acres in Top Crop bush beans. The rains fell just right and before long we were picking 60-80 lbs a day. We quickly flooded the local fruit stands and fed green beans to horses, mules, goats, cows, and chickens. What a MESS!
I'm with you on pole beans...bush beans get farther away from my fingers every year!

I am in southern Kansas not far south of Wichita. Had a hard time getting my beans started this year. I like blue lake, but this year I planted Contender bush and KY wonder pole. Neither are even flowering yet. I think we have had too many cool days and maybe too much rain. My corn (Kandy Korn and Bodacious) isn't even knee high yet. Just shin-high.
