Farmall 400 power steering shaft and worm gear

My 400 has Behlen pump and priority valve so I assume it is a factory power steering set up. BUT... my worm gear and shaft are one piece, not the coupling to the splined "short worm gear" shown on Case/IH parts web site. The shaft on my 400 measures 26.5 inches. Am I missing something?Has someone gone to the trouble of adding a priority valve and behlen unit and shortened a shaft 20 inches ? My shaft needs replaced as it is worn on the gearing and also at the area where it meets the seal.I could put up with the slop in the steering for a while but it leaks oil right out of the newly replaced seal. Could I order the 46.5 inch shaft and have it cut down and keyed? Please help!! Thanks!!

365430R11 is the one piece worm shaft for power steering. Later 450 were the ones equipped with the two piece. Probably can't get both of those new unless new old stock. Yes a shaft for regular steering can be shortened and keyed.

Also didn't mention the two piece worm shaft will only work with a later 450 radiator with a bigger worm shaft hole in it.

Thanks for the replies! Next question; can the bushing for the steering shaft inside the bolster be replaced? I don't know how long this unit ran dry before I purchased the tractor. The bushing doesn't look too bad but I don't see it shown in the exploded parts view on Case/IH. If it is worn out I figure the shaft is riding on the seal . I can't say if the shaft has wear at the point of the seal. It certainly had wear in the area of the bushing.
