Class Action!!

In 1 of the farm magazines is an ad to join a class action suit if you used certain brands of 303 Hydraulic Fluid. I've been harping for years to not be using straight hydraulic fluid. Straight hydraulic fluid is nothing but panther pi$$ with an anti foaming agent. You should be using a premium Transmission-Hydraulic Oil such as Hy-Tran and others. The Transmission part of the oil means it has an EP Extreme Pressure rating which straight hydraulic oil does not have. No manufacturer I know of recommends straight hydraulic oil in their transmissions-differentials. I wouldn't use it in an isolated hydraulic system either.

Hello If you read up on this on the Lawyers web site some of what they were selling was ( LINE WASH )labeled as oil and if you looked at a container of this stuff there was no viscosity listed any where on the jug because they had no idea of what they were bottling It was not even oil in some cases . I have had it take out he pump wore so bad it has VERY little pressure I would change it , I was reimbursed for the oil I bought, a % and was paid for my damages, so was my neighbor. I would change the oil asap Bryan

I've been hearing complaints about the 303 for a couple years now and have used it but never had any damage that I know of. Have been wondered what was going on. For a long time I had hydraulic leaks so bad I was using as much fluid as gas so I bought the cheapest fluid I could get. I've since rebuilt the loader cylinders.

It doesn't provide any protection to the pump gears and bearings. It simply provides a cheap avenue for the pump to provide pressure, but offers no protection against wear. New system or old, they all need protection.

that is totally not true. we have been using the standard hydraulic oil in out power units for top drives on the rigs for years and years. 32 vis and 68 vis in summer. they have vickers pumps and yet to have a problem with the pumps from hydraulic oil we have even tryed automatic trans oil for winter use and all year round that was when we saw more pump wear. the only thing hytran is for is for the differential on a hard pull that would other wise be gear oil with the extreme pressure lubes in it. and i junky little tractor hydraulic system dont care what it has in there. its just two gears going around and around. and this closed loop hydraulic system operates just find on standard hyd. oil
