Case 2090 cab dome light

I can't remember when the dome light last worked in my Case 2090. When I redid the cab interior I also pulled the light fixture out to replace it. I put a new original fixture back in today and no light. I don't think I have 12 volts at the electrical connector coming up the cab frame - I will check into that more tomorrow. Fuse seems good. Cleaned all of the grounding spots. Switch on door connects to ground with continuity meter when the door is open and off when closed. New bulb. Bulb fixture is grounded. Any ideas?

Lastly, I do not think the operator's manual talks about the 3 positions of the dome light switch. I assume position #1 is only when the door opens. Position #2 might be manually ON with the door closed. Position #3 might be totally off either with the switch or door? Anyone remember? Thanks.
 
Sorry I thought someone else would answer,, you have three positions,

one position is light off door open or closed
one is light on when door is open
one is light on door open or close I check them at the light fixture wires for proper operation, and make sure you have proper ground at light fixture also
 
Thanks Nutty Case. Does the dome light only work with the ignition switch turned ON? Light works when I run a hot wire to it from the battery. Can't seem to find power in the factory hot wire that goes to the light fixture. I know it has to flow through one of the electrical connectors under the cab. Fuse is good.
 
This is some info that applies to cars and truck and may or may not help you. The dome light is on a ground seeking circuit. This means power is to the lamp at all times and the lamp only comes on when one of the doors opens which completes the ground. The door switch could be bad or the light switch can be turned which completes the ground. Door switches complete the ground in vehicles
 
No dome light has power all the time so you can have light if you have the switch set to that position when you open the door
