800 Case-o-matic diesel

I know almost nothing about this series. I'm just interested in it for the rear rims and tires. $500 difference if I buy the tires and rims, or the whole thing. Runs, but transmission doesn't work. Diesel, narrow front.
Already get some complaints from SWMBO about too much "stuff" in the yard...
Which way would you go?

Bring it home, take the beating, ask for forgiveness, And at the end of the day you still have it. Just saying. CMIt’s worked for me since 2011

I have an 800B COM. Great tractor, parts still available, the transmission might be fixed with fluid or a filter.

I REALLY don't need another project. The rear rims would be for my son's tractor. The rest would be parted out, if we bought the whole thing. How much demand is there for parts for an 800?

Let your son decide if he wants to buy the rest of the tractor and then he can keep it at his place instead of your place.

It will take some time and some work to sell the engine, radiator, hydraulic pump and enough other parts to recover your $500, if you can be sure those parts are still good. Myself, I would keep the extra $500 just buy the tires and leave the rest behind for the current owner to deal with.
