I'm working on my 700-B Pounds Orchard tractor and not sure about the tachometer and speedometer cables. Both are broken, as in only a few inches are sticking up out of the side of the engine and the transmission housing. I've moved the "nut" at the top of the transmission housing for the speedometer cable and it will loosen. Looking at the parts manual I don't understand how they attach and haven't found the replacement cables yet (I know, I need to call John Saeli!) Is there anything bad that will happen if I unscrew it completely? I really don't want to take the top off the trans and surely don't want to go into the base to connect to the tach drive there unless I have to. Here is a picture of what's left sticking out of the transmission housing. Thanks for your help!
