Dare Old Combine

I keep going back to the 660 to tinker on whenever I have a little free time. This dare thing has really peaked my interest in the combines and has been fun to attempt getting back into good working condition. I have had a 1070 BK collecting dust for 5 years that I should be working on. Today I had a free couple hrs. that gave me time to test and repair some wiring problems. This could have had a electrical fire very easily, damn rodents! Found three spots that needed attention. Rod.

That sure is a nice old 660 Rod! My grandpa bought an 800 new with both the corn and bean heads. This picture is the only one I have of it with my uncle combining corn in about 1973.

Rod, I like the combine pic, but sure understand the wiring, pulled out one of my "446"s and mice have in the past enjoyed be around this one, and yes back, they were chewing on the wiring, I just don't get it. Once they have been in there and left their "scent" the others come back. Geez

I'd say the header was plugged. Too bad they didn't put as much engineering in the earlier heads as they did the combines. The 306 6-Row was a great head. So great that Deere bought the tooling & patents.

Rod great looking combine, With the newer combine I am afraid that the nice will enjoy the wiring . So I made room in my shop and hired my shop cat to keep watch. Jerry from Ohio
