8 row Factory J.I.Case Planter PIC

After several years of looking, I finally found the planter my Dad ordered for himself (He was a J.I.Case dealer also) to use on the farm. From what the owner told me we thought he said your Dad really was changing things going that big in the early 70s for our area.
I guess its back in the family.
Might not look like much, but it sure made my buttons pop

WOW! What a find! I'm sure glad you were able to find that. Will you fix it up or keep it as is!

Jon, I'm not sure yet. My first thoughts it would sure look good behind the "1030" or "930" at shows, and the "1030" I have was on the farm the same time this planter was around. In fact thinking about this, I think the "1030" I have did plant with this planter. As back then it was set on 60"centers. I planted a lot of sunflowers with it.

Not quite the only one left....like I posted earlier I have a TC-68 also. Bought mine in pieces and put it together. Mine has dry fertilizer boxes and dry herbicide units on the rear of the planting units. Bought it in pieces in the late 70s.

Doug, I think what you meant is it is unique, and so is Steve's for sure also. As there isn't many of these left. Case made several different models of planters, Steve's and mine and the others out there like this are all unique.

You are correct Dan
I've been on the farm for 60 years
And I have never seen a case planter
In my area
You guys up north seen a lot more case
Equip then we did
That's the reason I'm trying to collect
Ji case equipment
It's different than the usual red and green down here
Than to all that share
Also since it's been a month since we've been
In the field I started putting the 1010 engine
Back together
In other words I had fun today lol
Thanks again
Doug

Doggone things are over 20" wide. Hard to transport down the road. Have the Albert City show coming up and Madison SD in the near future....might have to figure out a way to get some of my planters to the Madison show as it is 60 miles away.

Enjoyed the pics Steve, I have wondered many times looking at them, as I have saved your pics on these how many are really left out there?
Also, this 8 row also had the individual fertilizer boxes on it also, but we never mounted them on, and they were stored away, I found out years later, after being in dark storage, they were taken out and thrown away!

You see very few of any Case planters anywhere, least I havent

Nice find Dan, keep us informed if a rebuild happens. On a planter I would not know where to start but it would be a fun challenge. Rod.
