D17 Allis hood emblem question

Hello, I just bought a D17 diesel tonight on a auction. Straight old tractor, but supposedly its locked up. Anyways, Im not new to Allis, Ive got a fleet of 180s-200s-but never owned a D17 until now. Anyways, my question is this tractor is serial number 6907, D obviously. It has aluminum hood emblems on it-Allis Chalmers. Ive looked around, found a lot of the decals, but never any aluminum emblems like this, mostly just the decals. What gave it the aluminum emblems? Could you order them this way? Did somebody add them? Just curious. Thank you in advance.

1957 all thru 1959 use two different styles of decals. In about 1960 they went to rivet on aluminum emblems. Gas or deezel makes no diff. It was a time frame thing and that would be considered series 2.

I didn't bother to look up the exact dates but but as Dr Allis said those metal name plates appeared in 60 or 61 on the D-15 tractor and near that same time the model D-10, 12 and 17 also received the new orange color, cream wheels and the metal name plates. The metal plates disappeared with the D-15 series 2 which had decals and once more the 10,12 and 17 all soon followed suit.
