I have one that is stuck in third gear. Is it hard to get it out of gear and what is the process? Do I just pull the top off and reset forks? If so, how do I make sure I have them back correctly? All the help will be appreciated.

straight forward ,pull the top, once in neutral the rails will be lines up. dont think you need any help. lol.

Pull the shift lever out usually can take a large screw driver and put it back into neutral,get a flashlight to see what you need to do.

Thank y'all for the advise. Now just to do it. Going to wait until all this rain passes. I don't have a shop to work in.

Should just be able to pull the shift lever and line things back up through the hole. While the lever is out, check the specs of it. There is a drawing floating around the internet with the dimensions of the ball. You can buy a new aftermarket lever or repair the one you have.

Mine did this
So
Do as others say
Pull up lever
Flashlight to put into desired gear
There is a key on the side and top of lever
I had to weld/ rebuild the key slot and repair the lever and housing
Then it is better and does not pop out of gear as much

Maybe yours needs this repair
