WD Battery Question

Hello,

I am new to old tractors and I have just inherited one, but first I need to get a battery for it. I know it has been converted over to run a 12v, but is there a specific battery I need or will something like a lawn tractor battery work? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to all this.

Thanks!

Measure the battery case and then buy the car battery that fits best.
A lawn tractor battery might work, maybe in the summer, if the engine
is in very good tune but still has low compression.

Lawn mower battery may work if it is easy start but your better off if you measure how long wide and tall the battery box is and buy one that will fit.

Forgot the say this. Best to try and get the highest CCA battery you can that fits that way in the winter it is more likely to start

Around here a lawn mower battery carries about a 90 day warranty(most don't last that long though). An automotive battery will have a 2or 3 year warranty. You will want more cca than a lawn mower battery puts out. I even put an automobile battery in my wifes lawn mower because the lawn mower batteries don't last very long.
