Just got a family tractor running after about 15 years sitting up. Runs perfect but hydraulic lift doesn t work. Oil shows on dipstick under seat. Anything else to check?? This is a 1959 Series 1 D-12 with hydraulic pump mounted on the side at the back of the tractor. Someone said it s same as a CA.

You say like a CA. I'm not sure on the D12, but a CA has to have the PTO engaged to run the hydraulic pump. I seem to remember seeing some D12's were like that and some later ones had live PTO and hydraulics. Have you tried it with the PTO engaged?

Yes I tried it with PTO engaged and disengaged.

Probably just lost prime,I'd turn the PTO on pull the hydraulic lever to raise position and manually lift the lift arms up and down a few times that might get it going.

Have the fluids been changed?

At least take out the drain plugs enough to see what comes out. One under tranny, one in rear, and one on pump.

If nothing comes out of the pump drain, pull the pump and clean it out. Check the cam followers, springs, and plungers while you are in there.

In the future make it a habit to engage the PTO and cycle the lift arms every time you start the tractor.

valve is sticking, I think it is part of the unloader valve. Take valve ?pump apart carefully and clean everything. It doesn't take much
to stick one of these valves. I had a CA and if left alone for a couple months I would have to do this every time. Not a big job but can
be nasty
