Allis B coil

I need to replace the magneto coil in my Allis B. There are two very small screws that need to be removed to get the old coil out of the magneto case, and they are not coming out easily. Anyone have any tricks to get the screws out?

Use a quality "hollow ground gunsmith's screwdriver" with a tip that's exactly the width of the screw slot, and LOTS of pressure to hold it in the slot.

Mite help to first insert a "cheap" expendable screwdriver, and tap on it with a hammer a few times to help loosen the screw.

Impact screwdriver works for me.

Use a torch with small flame very sparingly by the screws. Don't melt the aluminum housing. The screws come loose very easily.

Heat works the best but make sure to use a good fitting screwdriver too.
