Got the governor cover and linkage swapped ,works good. I will need to adjust it some. It's only 4 notches on throttle from idle to wide open. Couldn't get it to start so we pulled it with another tractor , finally got it going but it was running really bad. 2nd time it quit I checked plug wires, I had 3&4 mixed up. Hand cranks easy now. What a cool little tractor! Thanks for all the help getting it going! Back in 1939 what would this tractor have been used for? No lift, not even an Armstrong!

Back in 1939 farmers would have been switch from horse pull equipment to tractor so a lot of old horse equipment would have been modified to work behind a tractor even it it took 2 people to do the job one on the tractor and one on the equipment. Or things like a one bottom trip plow or pull disk etc. Hyds can be added to it real east by the way

The "lift" (both manual and hydralic) mounts under the rear seat, however in only lifts the implements that are specific to the "B". It had a full suit of implements that only fit the "B". Otherwise you just used the drawbar for trailer or horse drawn equipment like old mentioned.

So far for my "B" I have found:
2-way plow (manual lift) There are pictures in the archive showing my B with the plows mounted
Cultivator (2sets)
Lister Planter
Spring tooth/field cultivator
Tandem Disk
Allis 40 All Crop

Would still like to locate:
Planter Parts (mounts on the cultivator)
Disk Plow
2 Row "Drill Planter" with the proper lifting hookup for the "B"
An allcrop grain drill (5' width or less)
Grader (similar to the "W" speed patrol but with the "B" platform)

Equipment for the B that was hand lift had the lift levers on the equipment or some mounted on the tractor but was specific to that piece of equipment,so when the equipment was swapped
so was the lift mechanism.

What would a B be used for? Everything the farmer could think of and talk it into doing. I know of one that pulled a New Holland 77 baler for a few years until they got a AC 45. Probably the only reason it cold do it was it had the front axle weights and a mid mounted mower which helped keep the front end on the ground. This one also ran a cordwood saw, pulled a plow and harrow, manure spreader, hay rake, stone boat, and anything else that needed done on the farm.
