D-17 Center Steering Rod

Lots of snow in New England over the past couple of weeks and while trying to make a path down to my woods to collect sap my front tire caught in a snow drift and slammed them side ways. This in turn caused the Center Steering Shaft to snap in half. Does anyone on here have some leads on finding a replacement?
I would also love any advice people can give on working in this area.
Thanks guys.

google Heitmann Tractor Salvage in WI. Biewer Salvage, All States, Worthington Ag, to name a few.

Thanks, I will give them a call. I just thought maybe some members here might have one kicking around in their barn or maybe someone had done the repair before and could give me some insight into the job. But again, thanks for the names of those yards.

Are we talking the center splined steering SHAFT ??? that the tie rods swing arm connects to?? I've never ever seen anyone break that vertical shaft. Usual failure is a bent hollow tie rod connected to the swing arm. If you've broken off that 2 inch + diameter shaft, you're looking at some work to replace it, as it goes up inside the front support........not a five minute job to replace by any means.

It's not the vertical splined shaft but the piece that connects the steering gear box to the tie rods. Its a horizontal piece of metal that both tie rods connect to then it connects to the shaft that sits inside the front support. looks like the picture provided except mine is busted around the splined collar.

Don't know why a decent welder couldn't fix that right up. You'll have to remove four bolts from under the front bolster and raise up the tractors front end to expose the roll pin that retains the swing arm and drop it off of the splined shaft to replace or weld it.
