Seat on a 1944 wc

What is the correct seat for a 1944 wc. I have been looking on line and saw two different types of seat one with a back rest and the other is just a pan. Going to start next year to restore the wc just trying to find parts that i know are missing.

From what I understand they could come either way and the back rest may even have been an option. My W Speed Patrol which uses many parts of the WC tractor has a back rest on it. I also have a WC parts tractor that has a fancy seat that is most likely an after market seat

I have a parts wc tractor that has a seat but it has a backrest on it. I just wasnt for sure if it was factory , an option or after market. I can get a pic of it this weekend if that would help.

Here is what my W Speed Patrol looks like. Not sure if you can see the seat all that well but that is what is on it and it is a 1947
The 2nd picture is of an unstyled W Speed Patrol and it too has the back rest

Well this is odd it will not let me post the n2nd picture

I have an original instruction manual for a WC and it has the pan seat (with many holes) and the back rest. The WF's were the same. I've never seen any pictures different than that from the forties if they were original.

Did not look that way when I got it and I have installed a different engine in it then it had when I got it. Sad thing I missed out on a unstyled W Speed patrol that sold for $1500

I am almost positive, they all came with a backrest. Folks removed them because it is a lot easier to throw your leg over the seat then to put it over the front side. Fred Wilke
