Carb/air cleaner hose on CA

How long is the peice of hose supposed to be that's between the carburetor and air cleaner on the CA? Putting it all back together after a carb rebuild and u have some new hose I want to put on.

Looks like about 1.5" on my C

The replacement one is 2 1/4" long.

1.5 inches fit it exactly. An 1/8 of an inch more and the carburetor and air cleaner wouldn't have bolted up. Thank you! I don't see how 2 1/4 inches would come close to fitting.
