Torque tube oil ??? WD

So the hydraulics are gone as is the hand clutch. 38" tires on the rear. So she has a downward angle. Do I need to run oil in the torque tube, and what type (dipstick)? I notice that transmission oil also runs out the bearing supporting the main shaft from transmission to main shaft in torque tube. So I'm going to assume that the reservoir for gear oil in the torque tube where the hand clutch used to be will fill out of the transmission. So all I need to do there is fill the transmission up. How do the two support bearings in the torque tube get lubricated? I also removed the PTO drive gears in the torque tube.

Thanks for the help

Keep the torque tube full. Check every time you run the machine, at the cap and dipstick on the left. Oil will migrate to other places, so keep it full.

If you removed the shaft for the PTO intermediate gears, you now have oil running back and forth from the hydraulic dipstick compartment into the hand clutch area. Leaving that shaft in place would keep the hyd dipstick oil isolated from the other compartments.

Just to picture what Dr. Allis said, if you have removed the gear shaft seen to the left of the bottom of the hydraulic oil reservoir, then the heavy oil can work its way forward. Otherwise, you have to add at the bayonet dipstick.

Good pulling tractor chassis always have the nose down, so when the front begins to lift, the front weights actually move a little more forward. The lower the better.

Thanks for all the replies. So transmission oil then, or do I need to pull the side cover off and put a freeze plug in the hole the shaft used to fill?

Thanks

What I would do is fill the three ports with the fluid of choice and then run it for awhile. Then remove the gear housing cover that lies under the starter and confirm for myself that the fluid remains as high as the engine clutch shaft. Then, I would know for sure.

But, that is just me.
