I bought an 801 Select O Speed Ford tractor with a bucket a few weeks ago. I have difficulty shifting it, oil pours out when I take dip stick out. I hope this is the place to get some help from the oldtimers out there. I am a 40 yr old greenhorn at this and didn't realize I was buying trouble. Anyone got suggestions for me.I would like to keep it original. It looks great.I have been told to scrap the tranny and put in a 5 speed. If I do that, do I have to do the rear end too?
