Collector Profile for Kim Walker | I currently live near a small town that is about 25 miles Northwest of Fort Wayne, Indiana. My wife, Lisa - 32, and my two kids, Betsy and Ben, and myself - 35, live on two small acres in the country. Lisa works as a Patient Accounts Representative at one of the hospitals in Fort Wayne and I am a 'Manufactured Housing Transportation Specialist'. (That's a fancy way of saying that I pull mobile homes!) Both kids are in school. I am the proud owner of a hand start 1940 John Deere model 'A' that I bought at a local farm implement auction for 250.00. [And yes, it even runs quite well.] I bought it as a restoration project for myself and my 7 year old son. I hope to finish it by Spring of 1999. I also have a 1/64th scale farm toy collection that I started about four years ago. Most of the collection is John Deere. I have over 125 pieces and I add to it every chance I get. I like to go to tractor shows and auctions with Ben, even if it is just to look around. My family and I enjoy the outdoors when we can: camping, biking and traveling. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
